Foggy Morning at Point Sur (2016)
The heavy fog began to clear as the dawn approached, revealing the Big Sur headlands, the mouth of the Little Sur River and Point Sur with its ever-vigilant lighthouse. The coast is treacherous here and even with the lighthouse 15 vessels have been lost since the Ventura first went down in 1875. But it has also saved countless ships and lives with its persistent warnings.
The fog, while concealing the jagged coast from mariners, is beautiful and soft to us viewing it from above. The headlands slowly emerge and the morning sun sheds its magic on the clouds above. It is truly a wonderful way to begin the day.
