Plaskette Point South(2011)
Right after the sun goes down and the clouds loose their fire the color on Mother Earth seems to go flat. You might think the show is over. But there’s one more fleeting magical moment to come and if you’re not ready you’ll miss it.
I almost missed this one. But fortunately I saw this last breath of the warmth of the day on the rocks at Plaskett point along a rare peaceful stretch of the Big Sur coast. I quickly set up my camera and composed the image and not a moment too soon. One click of the shutter was all I got and the moment was gone. As I look at the print it still triggers in me the feeling of quite joy and contentment I felt standing there above the wide Pacific.
