Photographs that reveeal the magic and wonder of Death Valley National Park.
Death Valley Reflections (2009)
Who would expect to see a lake in Death Valley? And yet, there it was, enormous, spreading for miles across the salt pan below the Panamint Mountains. Add to that a storm that laid a fresh blanket of snow on the peaks, leaving behind a few billowy clouds to greet the sun the following morning. Every sunrise is a privilege. But this morning was different. The anticipation was amplified a hundred fold, no, a thousand fold. There were only a handful of us who were going to see this unfold and we had our cameras ready to capture this once in a lifetime moment. Of all the sunrises on the planet that morning, what could have topped this? It’s hard to imagine. Somehow the word ‘privilege’ doesn’t express the depth of our gratitude for the immense grandeur we experienced that euphoric morning.
