Aspen Spring (2011)
Eastern Sierra, California
Spring is miraculous in
the Eastern Sierra. It's fascinating how
it climbs up the canyons and mountain slopes.
It first touches the valley and then moves up
hill dusting life into the trees and shrubs as
it goes. So it's easy to find the perfect
blush of spring, just by driving up and down
Bishop Creek, South Fork.
And this is it. The
willows are sending out red buds before the
green follows. Some of the aspen have
already donned their line green leaflets while
others are still thinking about it. And
the aspens do what they do so well - reach for
the heavens. It's a wonderful moment.
