Mt Whitney through an Arch (2006)
Alabama Hills, Eastern Sierra, California
In anticipation we wait. The morning air is chilly. The storm clouds from the previous day have cleared, leaving scattered remnants above California’s highest peak – 14,497 foot tall Mt. Whitney. The eastern horizon puts on a dazzling display alerting us that the sun is near at hand. Moments later its rays pierce the cold and cheer the frosty peaks.
