Print of the Month
Each month I select one
photograph for the Print of the Month
collection. This is a photograph that I
feel is special in one way or another. I
provide not only my feelings towards the subject
but also some insight into how the photograph
was captured in the field and what I did with it
in the post processing to achieve my vision.

American Southwest
The American Southwest is home
to some of the most beautiful and stunning
scenery on the planet. There's so much to
cover that a lifetime of frantic photography
wouldn't be enough time. This part of the
earth has a fascinating geologic history that
culminates in the Grand Staircase, the march of
time from the bottom of the Grand Canyon to the
top of Bryce. Oh, what a place!

California Deserts
The Deserts of California are
home to the most amazing wonders and sublime
beauty. From the depths of Death Valley to
the high deserts of Joshua Tree with the endless
Mojave desert in between, they offer endless
variety and fascination. Sunrise and
sunset are truly the golden hours when one feels
exhilarated and glad to be alive.

Eastern Sierra
Traveling north on US Highway
395 you cannot keep your eyes off of the
towering peaks of the Sierra crest to your left.
They jut up from the arid Owens Valley with such
raw power and energy that it could have happened
yesterday. The Sierra command so much
attention that we fail to notice the peaks to
our right that are home to the oldest living
things on the planet - the Ancient Bristlecone
Pine. And that's just the start.
There's so much to explore in this wonderful
land.

Green Wilderness
There are many quite places of
pristine beauty, places that speak to our souls.
We may discover them by accident. They may
or may not be well known. And yet, they
are there, sometimes even in our own back yard.
And we are thankful for them and celebrate them.
