This beautiful kirche (church) stood quiet on a Sunday morning.  Not the same status as the nearby Munster Cathedral, this church is near the heart of Basel.  It was strange that on a Sunday morning there were no services, no worshipers.  The only thing that was active was a little coffee shop tucked in one corner of the church.  I was surprised and delighted.  I wish I would have taken the time to sample their coffee.

While wandering through the towering fluted pillars I got the idea to do something crazy, something totally unexpected.  This is the result.   I'm very pleased with the patterns of the vaulted ceiling and the sense of height.
