Strasbourg France has one of the most exciting cathedrals we visited.  Even in its unfinished state (the second two was never built) it radiated an intricacy and complexity even grand for the Gothic period in which it was started.  For over 200 years it was the tallest building in the world and is still the sixth tallest church in the world.

The inside soars to unimaginable heights as if to reach to the heavens.  Experiencing such a place is uplifting regardless of your faith.
