California Redwoods Photography Workshop

2017 California Redwoods Photography Workshop

The coastal redwoods of Northern California are some of the most stately and serene trees on Earth.  On a clear day they tower to the heavens.  But you are more likely to experience them in the gentle fog in which they thrive where sunlight streams through the branches and leaves trails in the mist.

The Northern California coast is more than redwood groves though. Rrugged, towering cliffs plunge into the ocean below for much of the coastline. The Smith River is the largest free-flowing river in California and flows through the north end of the area. Sea stacks dot the waters just offshore. Prairies are home to Roosevelt elk. There is so much that this majestic land has to offer and so much to photograph.

A typical day begins with a morning shoot and ends with sunset. Some days we're photographing all day. On other days we have classes and photo critiques in the middle of the day. While in the field we provide one-on-one help with the areas that are important to you. Our goal is to broaden your technical skills and unleash the artist in you.

Early June is when the rhododendrons are in bloom. So it's the perfect time for a photography workshop.  These beautiful flowers accent the majestic redwood groves.  Spring is in the air and the light is fantastic.  This is the time to be here.

You can find photography workshops with big name photographers and prices to match. But you will be hard pressed to find photography workshops that offer greater value than ours.
