Eastern Sierra Workshop Post #1

The Eastern Sierra workshop starts today.  I’ll be leaving in just a couple of hours to head up 395.  That’s always a pleasant thought, ‘heading up 395.’  For those of us who live in Southern California, heading up the legendary 395 is like heading up into heaven.  It’s one of the most spectacular, inspiring and uplifting roads in the nation, especially if you love mountains.

For those who don’t live in Southern California 395 traverses the eastern flank of the Sierra Nevada mountains for about 400 miles.  So to your west you have the Sierra crest abruptly jutting up out of the Owens Valley and towering two miles over your head.  Your eye can travel from the blazing heat of the valley to the cool mountain summits.  It recharges the soul.

You can follow along with the progress of the workshop on this blog.  Stay tuned.
