St Martin church in Colmar, France is known as the red church because it was constructed from red sandstone.  The fact that it lacks the status of a cathedral because no bishop ever called it home does not diminish it in any way.  It is a beautiful and inspiring structure.

Our tour stopped in an archway that framed an interesting vignette of the complex exterior of this lovely church,
