2024 Bryce Canyon National Park Photography Workshop

Lodging: Our base of operations is the Best Western Hotel in Bryce Canyon City, just outside the entrance to he park. You will receive instructions for booking your hotel room when you sign up.
Transportation: If you're flying in, Las Vegas is your best option. The drive to Bryce Canyon is about 4 hours depending on traffic.
Physical Difficulty: Moderate to Strenuous. Many of the shooting locations are near the road or on short hikes. However, some of the trails are steep and at an elevation of 8000 feet they become more strenuous. Taking your time when ascending these trails is important. Also, sunrise weather conditions at this time of year can be very cold and there is a possibility of snow although that is remote. Morning temperatures are often in the 20s. Layers are essential and hand warmers (available in the general store) are greatly appreciated. Good balance and moderate stamina are required to navigate the trails.
Sitting at the top of the Grand Staircase, Bryce Canyon is amazing and an ideal destination for a thrilling photography experience. The splendor of sunrise is like no other place on earth. Even from the rim you will be inspired but descend the trails a short distance and the scenery takes your breath away. You can photograph the grand, sweeping vistas or the intimate details.
The surrounding area has more natural wonders. Red Canyon, Kodachrome Basin and Devil's Garden are all within driving distance from Bryce. We will also visit several of these locations (depending on the weather) during our time here.
A typical day begins with a morning sunrise shoot at one of Bryce Canyon's viewpoints and ends with sunsets at various locations outside the park. Some days are devoted to photographing all day. On other days we have classes and photo critiques in the middle of the day. While in the field we provide one-on-one help with those areas, both technical and creative, that are important to you. Our goal is to broaden your technical skills and unleash the artist in you.
Bryce Canyon is very special in October. Mornings can be below freezing but the days are pleasant. More importantly, the light this time of year is incredible.
You can find photography workshops with big name photographers and prices to match. But you will be hard pressed to find photography workshops that offer greater value than ours. And we keep the attendance low to offer more individual attention.
